Grégoire Delamare is a French tenor born in Paris and living in Austria, Germany and France. As the son of a classical guitarist, he was immersed in music from childhood and tried his hand at various instruments and musical styles. He discovered his voice through improvisation while playing guitar in jazz bands with which he toured Parisian cafés. Curious about this new instrument, he gradually discovered classical singing, for which he was immediately enthusiastic.
After studying humanities at the Sorbonne (Paris I), he entered the Paris Conservatory (CRR) in the class of Yann Toussaint and graduated in 2017. He then joined the Frankfurt Conservatory (Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt) where he graduated with his Masters degree and perfected his skills in Thilo Dahlmann's class. He also won first prize in the Wagner Verband Nachwuchs Preis 2022 competition.
Particularly passionate about the stage, he quickly accumulated numerous roles which he had the opportunity to sing in various productions. His velvety timbre, his Italian tenor lyric colour and his strong stage presence allow him to tackle a wide repertoire. He is also very enthusiastic about concerts, where he loves the intimate atmosphere, and regularly sings the solo tenor parts of oratorios and participates in recitals. He is a member of the Upper Austrian Opera Studio at the Landestheater Linz for two seasons (2020/2022).
